I called the Marantz repair shop here in NC. They haven't got the firmware upgrade. I called Marantz in NJ. Their computer system has no record of it and the referred me to Audio Radio in E. Syracuse, NY, their central repair location,. They have no idea about it after checking around for a week. When trying to find SA 8005 reviews, I found the "Upgrade Company" which has modified SA 8005s that include EMI, EFI treatment + Bybee Purifers. I ordered one which cost $1,800 ($1,200 for stock player + $600 in mods.) The Upgrade Company has very favorable reviews in The Absolute Sound and other Magazines. They say it easily outperforms a stock SA-14. It should be here in about 2 weeks. Thanks for all the help.
