I haven't listened much on headphones, but the DSD Recordings,
using a Mic Stand to get it about 7 feet high, and the Optimum Recording Level, which takes some experience to work out, have been outstanding for the $ involved.
Not at all muffled.
If you recorded from a table, it was probably too low, could account for some of what you are hearing.
Try it in DSD, there are no additional settings to use, PCM has all the Options.
Korg Audio Gate software will help you to edit, add tracks, then Export them for use with a DAC.
