Hey Kenny,Glad you still enjoy the Magnavox. I assume that it the same one I sold you on ebay a year or so ago. I love those amps and I use one to drive a set of Dynaudio 4-ohm DIY speakers with decent result. I recently bought a 6V6 based amp but haven't had a chance to clean it up and put in proper terminals.
Anyway, I am wondering if your Pas 3 is, perhaps, a Pas 3X as there is no external ID to indicate if a model is a 3 or 3X. I always thought mine is a regular Pas 3 but mine sounds very decent. Well, it turned out that mine is actually a Pas 3X. One way to find out is to measure the two end points of each tone pot with the wiper around the midpoint. You may need to wiggle the wiper back and forth to find the actual point, but there will be a noticeable change in resistance. I believe one goes to infinity and one goes to 0 ohms. Also, the 3X has 2 green 0.22 uf coupling caps.
