i currently have both the 3800 and the a1 which i am a/b'ing as part of my upcoming review of the denon dvd-3800 player.overall, the dvd-3800 player has inferior sonics to my "reference" which is a sony xa777es.
at it's price point, however, i would rate it as "decent"
