Hi all, I'm brand new to the whole world of hi-rez audio, so these questions may seem pretty basic. I'm intrigued by the idea of DVD Audio authoring that I've read about, especially that $100 package that's been mentioned here before. But I don't understand where the source material comes from. To make a true DVD-Audio, wouldn't you need an analog master tape of a recording so it could be sampled at 96 kHz or higher? If you made a DVD-A on your computer at home, where would the music come from? You couldn't use your CDs, right, because they are already sampled at 44.1 kHZ. Is authoring just for professionals or the layman? Thanks.
