New DVD-Audio music releases and talk about the latest players.

Re: DVD-A is a BLEAK future.... audiophiles will be ignored

Of course this explains why only the first 5 or so titles from WB lacked discrete stereo tracks. Currently all WB releases carry discrete stereo tracks.

It also explains why AIX records took a substantial amount of time downmixing from multi-track masters to 2 channel, specifically so that their releases would be playable in stereo only systems.

It also explains why Hi-Res Music only does stereo releases that are of exceptional quality.

It even explains the v1.1 spec for DVD-Authoring which makes it even easier to use DVD-A discs without a TV. Personally, with the exception of a really crappy authoring job on an EMI disc, I don't require a TV.

It would be nice if you did just a little more homework on the mixing that's being delivered on DVD-A discs, instead of just posting rubbish about stereo tracks.

And has been pointed out ad nauseum, watermarking is optional.

The bigger labels will always do what they can to protect their content. The smaller labels concerned with sonic quality have many other things to worry about aside from content protection, like keeping their doors open and making more superb recordings.
