I didn't think of expense, because I thought we had a good choice of 'affordable' decks $3-5,000. This is a 'vinyl' revival, isn't it ?
On gear -don't we have 'vastly improved' tonearms and cartridges ? Quieter motors and plinths ? Maybe this was all hype.
And more vinyl pressings since the 1980s. At so I thought, but your piece makes me wonder.
