Amp/Preamp Asylum Looking for a new Amp or Preamp? If you're after tubes, post over here. |

I remember that when I first got interested in audio, someone explained to me that there was no law here in Aus about how to define outoput watts for an amp, so it was an area where misinformtion abouded. I was thinking that in the last 20 years something would ave happenned to sharpen things up, but perhaps nothing has..
I was looking at some car power amps advertised on Eaby and saw some really dodgy ads. Someone describes a car amp as 1400 watss, then you read the fine print and find.."4 chanels at 350 watts each so that is a total of 1400 watts"Total lie, of course, but do I have any basis for complaining?
