The usual reason for an unexplained 'pop' is some line voltage irregularity, somewhre. It may be in the preamp line, the amp line..
A small AC transient causes a electromagnetic pulse.
Usually it will be from a motor. Heating, frig, stove,
Even from outside your home.
Like when a switch on the TT can make the TT cause a pop, due to location near cartridge.. Some bigger but similar break is causing your pop.
