So I didnt know the amp and found it is a Twin Towers. What is the RR? Is that the wireless remote 64 step volume control upgrade? If so I'm really surprised a 1% resistor, thorium contact relay, silver wired attenuator was beaten by an Alps potentiometer costing less than $100. Not saying I don't believe you just surprised. I've heard hybrids like that and like the sound. I found their web page tough but found reviews to read and see the product. I assume you have a higher impedance load to drive.
