IF willing to forgo: Remotes, Multi input switching and incorporating some mediocre/subprime inbuilt Phono contraption.
A simple Stepped attenuator plus RCA's will Unquestionably outsound Most All commercial contraptions. IF you have odd gear with abnormal input requirements.. a simple Autoformer/buffer addition to the attenuator will eliminate those.. permanently
But there won't be many bragging rights as result.
Your choice then :-)
