Im looking to change just to change. Might get a sound I like better or not. Adding Herron to switch the onboard phono card. Don't think the Herron has enough gain to use it as a pre amp. Considered a SP20 with it's onboard phono but it doesn't have enough gain for my cartridge. Would prefer to have a balanced out as thats what I am using now for my power amps.Would have probably preferred a one box preamp with good phono but I did not find one that seem to fit the bill so I bought a phono preamp and am now looking for just a pre amp. Tend to prefer the old lush tube midrange with a more modern extended high end. Bass not as important as I have two decent powered subs.
