I don't mean to offend, hadn't thought about the clapper in years. Just intended to get a laugh.
I wish you luck in your quest for an amplifier. And joking aside, there are a lot of home automation equipment available that is easy to use and install. You are going to want a high quality relay, so go for highest current handling available.
