After sitting in the same spot for 13 years, my 6B SST failed to power up after a power outage. I wondered if this was time for an upgrade, but the price of the SST squared at $9,000 is double the $4,500 I paid for it! So it was off to Peterborough - a three hour drive - with the 6B in the trunk. I picked it up a week later on Thursday. The soft switch circuit now incorporates 6 diodes and six capacitors were replaced. They found and replaced a noisy switch on the center channel at the back. I threw it back in and was surprised to find that it is noticeably quieter.
I'm not sure Bryston's policies are a prescription for growth and profitability in a declining market, but they certainly offer a unique customer service experience.
