Denon Pra 1000

Amp/Preamp Asylum

I recently got my old school stereo out of storage where it has been for the last 16 years. It is comprised of Denon components, amp is a POA 1500, preamp is PRA 1000, Denon cd, turntable and tuner, Klipsch Cornwall speakers. My problem is the preamp, no output on one channel at all, the other is very poor quality lots of static and low volume. I can bypass the preamp and plug components into the amp directly and everything works great. Is this enough info for someone to speculate what the problem may be?? I am not a audiophile but I have worked with pc boards and have the capability to repair them if I knew what to do. One other note is if you tap the power supply all sound will shut off momentarily then come back. Thanks Dave E
