Everything I know about amps was...

taught to me by John Curl (and with a respectful nod to reading some of Matti Otala's work).

Negative feedback, crossover notch distortion, current, bias, slew rate, ...

John continues to try to teach me. We were talking one day a while back, and he gave me a ten minute description/lecture on diodes. F-ing diodes, for Pete's sake. No, not amp design or rock and roll - diodes.

I'm tellin' ya what, John knows his stuff, which is why he's ahead of the cutting edge of audio circuit design. You want a $50,000 phono stage, or a $1,000 power amp - he can do both, and has done it. One of these days, I'd like to do an interview with him about audio and stuff - that would be great fun.

I'm not sure why I posted this, other than maybe I'm being a bit nostalgic and grateful in this new year.
