Amp/Preamp Asylum Looking for a new Amp or Preamp? If you're after tubes, post over here. |

Hi All,
I'm not a tech guy therefore even though I searched over the Net also not really sure.
For some reasons, I need to connect a cd player to two pre-amps concurrently.
The balanced output of my cd player is:
Output level: 2.0 Vrms (50 kΩ)
Output impedance: 600 ohms or higher
The balanced inputs of my pre-amps are:
Pre 1. input impedance / overload : 95kΩ / 14V RMS
Pre 2. input impedance / sensitivity : 100kΩ / 334mV
I also found a formula to calculate the total input impedance:
A*B/(A+B) = 95*100/(95+100) = 48.7kΩ
My question is is there any sound degrade if I used a Y-split XLR to connect the cd player to the two pre-amps? ANother word, will it create any exceed load to the cd player, and lead to distortion?
Thank you!
