Amp/Preamp Asylum Looking for a new Amp or Preamp? If you're after tubes, post over here. |

I recently did some switching around of system components, retired a few and just purchased an Emotiva mini-X A-100 amp for use in with the in house system. Previously, I was using an old Kenwood receiver left over from the previous homeowners. That now lives in the garage driving some vintage Advents. I found that its having a tuner and phono input were more valuable there.
The in house system is driven solely by the office server which can access the digital library along with internet radio and XM so having a single input on the amp is no problem. While it has less power (still plenty), it is arguably better sounding than the old Kenwood and runs cooler which works great hidden away in a cabinet. It has a thermally activated fan and goes into standby when not in use for a while.
It was only $219 delivered complete with a five year warranty.
