Conrad Johnson Classic 2SE 6922 tube rolling find

I ordered and switched out the original 6922 in my CJ preamp with a Genalex 6922.

Adjectives aside here's my findings. The original tube is dead balls on accurate. However - not very musical!

The Genalex essentially smoothed out the graininess and filled in the gaps. In short the music SOUNDS like music. Not a test tone. Instruments sound more real and lush. The dynamics punchier where there is supposed to be punch. And I hate to put it this way but more like how a good tube preamp should sound like.

It changed the entire tone and dynamics of the stereo Now my tube preamp and solid state have a definite welcomed fusion of solid state and tubes.
