Yes it seems more detailed than what I was using before, which was a diy preamp consisting of a Goldpoint attenuator and Dodds tube buffer. I actually purchased it to use downstream from a MiniDSP NanoDIGI and multiple DACs, incorporating one of the 7.1 channel inputs for the 6 channels I need (L/R for monitors, L/R for midbass subs, and L/R for IB subs).

As far as the remote, I use a URC RF20, which is a learning remote. So you just point the two at each other and blast away (not quite that easy, but you get the point):)
