Wow! Brings back memories. Bought and still have the db-1 and db-6[or is it 9]. My first foray into "real" HiFi! Then I slid down the slippery slope of "upgrade" looking for nirvana getting rid of my AR speakers for Rogers LS3/5A's. It has never stopped. I remember the db pre-amp [and amp] as clean, clear almost x-rayish with very little depth, but that could also be a result of the Denon table with an Empire MC which replaced my PE table and Shure. I eventually replaced the little db pre-amp with CJ and ARC "stuff" and the lush sound of tubes. May have to dig out the little pre-amp and see what it sounds like.
