while thinking the former consensus about this to be in general true
(inside: more precise imaging; outside: bigger soundstage)
i can add that with my tweeters on the outside, the cardas method
(8' between tweeters and 8' between them and my head), and
my present passive line level vertical biamping, i'm now
obtaining a much more realistic soundstage, especially for big
symphonic orquestra (my favourite), together with better
resolution (on the inside i find the center somewhat congested),
more natural timbres (piano, violin, vocals...), and better
bass (tighter and more articulated)i also think that my former "better" imaging was rather artificial,
both in the sense that it sounded less natural, and also in the
sense that it located instruments (and families of them) in less
realistic placementsbest, paco
