Not in my experience, planer bass lacks impact. Of course I also own JBL 4367's with 15" woofers, while my previous mains were 3.6's. I've heard the 20.7's the 30.7's even the 30.7c that last one is the closest I have heard a Magnepan have impactful and dynamic bass, other audio critics have said the same, ala Johnathan Valin.
