Have not, but

I discovered long ago that I was very sensitive to that kind of discontinuity.

When I was 17, I heard Tympani IIIs tri-amped with Audio Research electronics. That experience completely recalibrated my reference as to how realistic an audio system could sound. It was only two years later that I heard Dayton-Wright electrostats.

Something was very different. While its image wasn't as large, there was a "rightness" to it that the Tympanis didn't fully convey. That was a pivotal moment for me and influenced everything since. I purchased the first of several full range electrostats in 1977 and have not turned back.

I remember hearing the IRS at Sea Cliff in 1980. Big, dynamic and extremely transparent. I was hearing new information in familiar albums. And yet, it seemed that the servo woofer towers belonged to a different speaker.

It seems each of us has particular sensitivities to different parts of the music experience. That is one of mine.
