RE: MMGW and LFT-8 woofers: balancing sensitivity

Thanks for the RTV tip, Dave. I now recall finding a thin layer of black rubber behind the replacement woofer in one of the pair of ESS Transtatic's I bought in '82. A previous owner had installed an imitation KEF B139 woofer in place of (I presume) blown one, so I called ESS and got the last remaining 139 they had left.

RTV also makes a good sealant on the inside borders of sealed speaker cabinet walls. I hadn't thought of RTV as a glue, but I guess it is! Do the black, white, and clear versions all sound different? ;-)
