I did not hear the .7s with the optional base.
When using Sound Anchor stands with my MMGs they raised the panels off the floor a few inches and eliminated the angle placing them straight up.
The upright position tightened the bass which caused the speakers to sound a tad leaner but with cleaner details.
For me, I preferred the Sound Anchors stand position with the subwoofer more than without the subwoofer. The sub compensated for the leaner bass and built on the added clarity.
Since the optional .7 stands reposition the panels in a position similar to the Sound Anchors, I would expect similar results.
