Generally speaking because I dislike inductors in the treble signal path. Particularly transformers. That is not to say that they can't do their functions well, but that they do so at a higher cost due to the cost of long high purity copper wire and high nickel core transformers. Inductors (particularly ferrite cores and even high nickel) have a phase effect that introduces an audible change well into the pass band - for better or for worse.
