I'm puzzled by your posting. You wrote that you took the "good one" home, but had problems. How did you know it was "good"? Had you auditioned the speakers prior to purchasing? If so, and the speaker played all right then, that would seem to indicate that, as others have suggested, there might be a problem with other electronics somewhere.

Here's hoping whatever it is can be simply remedied. Keep us posted, and good luck!
