Greetings,

Back in college when I got my first bass (Fender SB something or other) I ran it into my Dynaco Pat-5 preamp, through the Dynaco amp, and out of my JBL L-100's. Worked fine. Still have the pre (since upgraded by Van Alstine), and JBL's. I would think planar would work as well, BUT will not deliver the cone sound of every bass amp/speaker cabinet.
