MGIIIA questions about restoration

There are a pair of early model MGIIIa's for sale in my area.
From what I have read here- Magnepan made some changes in the middle of the production run on these- revised x-overs and even a different ribbon. My question is if I send back a pair of these to Magenepan with serial numbers prior to these changes and ask for them to be restored will Magnepan update them with the latest ribbon xover, etc or will they use the legacy ribbon that originally shipped with the speakers?
