RE: New Product Info On-line

The capacitively coupled input stage is not, strictly speaking, a differential stage without adding a small negative supply, but I will provide instructions for doing that with the kit. It's easy, but I wanted something as simple as could be made that had phase-splitting capability and lacked the soul-stealing plate resistors. :+)) As it is it's what used to be called a "short-tailed PP pair" input stage.

In this particular case, I've not yet played "scientist" and listened to both without changing other parts of the amplifier circuit, so I can't properly answer your question second question. I hope to get to that with "plywood base" monoblock amplifiers sometime on the next few months.
