I'm very interested in going low-powered SET / ultra high efficiency speakers. Right now, I have a VAC 70/70 mk3 with some ML Aerius i, and although I love the sound (I have a fairly small room), the heat generated off my VAC and the cost of retubing is HUGE.What I like about my current setup: room is filled with sound, very detailed, clear, good imaging, ultra-smoooth.
What I don't like: incoherency, ultra small sweet spot.
I'm looking at a PHY KM30 full range driver, or something similar mated with a 45 or 2A3/300b SET. What would I lose/gain?
What are the enclosure options for this driver? Depth/Height is OK, but width can't be too large...
THanks for your advice!
