Greetings all!

Just a quick message to ask your opinions, if any, on this combination (or on the individual components). Excellent condition.

It is currently down at the moment, the cables need to be re-done. The motor spindle is bent :( ack its a wreck but when operational Thorens tables sound great! A used Thorens is a good way to go.The Thorens tone arms arent bad for what is there. I havent had too much experience with many arms but from what I'm told the stock Thorens arms arent bad at all. I dont know too much about Linn products, all I know is I think they seem very pricey when better can be had. What kind of turntable are you looking for right now? Obviously looking for a used one, whats your budget? 300$ can get you a Music Hall or NAD 533(better table) about 500-700 gets you a Project 6.1 This is my table its gonna stay a while. Rega can be had for around 450-700$ (planar2 or 3) Good Luck!

I just sold my thorens td147 for a VPI jr. with Rega 300 arm. Transferred over my Benz-Micro silver cartridge to the Rega. The sound difference??
"Oh my God" came out of my lips. What a sonic improvement! I thought the thorens was good, but the bass and the soundstage were now so clear, so refined. Separation was improved and depth was dramatically increased. Highs were there with no sign of hardness. (I did not think the highs were hard with the thorens, but in comparison with the vpi, they were.) For the $900 I paid for this setup, it was well worth without a doubt. I am approaching true high-end analog playback at a fraction of the cost. Check it out.
