I guess there can never be too many record cleaners. Here's a new one from Germany. I think this is not supposed to replace wet cleaning or ultra sonics but be used in place of an AT brush before playing. It's sort of a mini vacuum with a record brush attached. There's a YouTube video in German that shows its use towards the end.

It may do what it says it will do in relation to surface dust. It cannot clean a record properly which requires some kind of liquid to dislodge or loosen deposits that are fused or are embedded to/into the groove or which are are coating it in some way e.g. fingerprints. In some cleaners the liquid acts similarly and also as a medium for an ultrasonic transducer to provide a cavitation process.

Think of it as a normal record brush with the same limitations. The vacuum that it has will add very little in effectiveness and would seem to perform the same purpose as the plastic "wiping bar" on e.g. an AQ carbon fibre brush.

A gimmick.

I figured that after the Volkswagen scandal we would get a break from GERMAN ENGINEERING, at least as marketed in all caps. On the other hand, I do like my German-made Elmasonic ultrasonic record cleaner.

I don't know, a gimmick ? Maybe, maybe not.
One thing I'm certain of is, it cost $$$$$ to bring, (it don't look like a cheap of crap), to market.

How much does it cost ?

Are you sitting comfortably? It is the equivalent of $225 here ( without VAT). So given that it may attract a tariff upon import to the USA think of a higher figure.

250.00 (or maybe $275.00) doesn't sound outrageous.

IF, it does what they say it does & is at least as good as a good manual brushing & you like gadgets, what the hell.

Kind of like a manual can opener or an electric. You pay for convenience.

I have a manual can opener, so I'm sure I won't be buying one, but I bet ya they sell. Now if there still in business in a year or two I guess they have a decent product.
