I have an Oracle Delphi turntable, a mkII I believe as it has the motor with the silver flywheel on the top, but which doesn't have its PSU and where the motor speed adjustment looks different to others I have seen. I want to get it up and running again.

If I understand correctly it uses a 24V DC motor, so as far as a replacement PSU, can I use an old computer 24V DC PSU, assuming the little pin connector is the right size to fit the socket on the back of the motor housing? All other Delphi mkiis that I have seen have an access hole on the back of the motor housing, to adjust two trim pots with one marked 33 and the other marked 45. There is only one trim pot visible on the back of mine and only a sticker marked 33, with a much larger knob to the left of this with no marking at all (and which is actually proud of the case rather than within it). I assume the larger knob is for the courser speed adjustment that I have read about and the little one for fine adjustment, though wonder if anyone has ever seen this set up before? Obviously until I get a PSU for it I cannot establish what each adjuster on the rear is for, though if anyone actually knows and wants to chime in then please feel free.

Thanks for the suggestion, no doubt that would be ideal but I am trying to avoid cost of an international phone call if possible.

Then email them Jacques is usually pretty quick to reply and most helpful.

FWIW: Ask them if a "standard" power supply for a mk v will work with your motor...I have one of these I would be willing to part with for a nominal fee.

My suspicion is that this power supply will work, but you better ask.

At some point in the early Oracles, they changed types of motors.

The time I called Oracle, I believe it was Jacques who answered the phone, and he was extremely helpful. I also recommend contacting him.

Just to help my confusion. Your profile says that you live in Canada. And Oracle are situated....

Oracle is located in the province of Quebec and for some Canadians, that is a different country :-)

I have the Mk II also, with the same motor and adjustment knob. I have a Oracle dynamic isolator that reduced my 30v power supply down to 24v that recently died on me. Oracle said not to run the 30v directly so I am using my 24v DC power supply from a Creek OBH9se phono stage. It's working great now. The input plug to the Oracle motor for our model is 5.5mm x 2.5mm (if I remember right) and the Creek cable was 5.5 x 2.1 so I got an adapter for it. Took some creative methods and spare parts to measure those different plugs but I finally got it right.
