Slowing things down a bit, literally 33 1/3RPM

Her piano is alive in the room, very palpable.

It's getting late, this will be it for the evening, and a great end it is.
The venue clearly plays it's part here.

Not to derail your thread, but I got a touch of nostalgia seeing your Kenwood pieces. Look identical to what I had back in college days. Don't have any idea what the model numbers were, but it was a 40 wpc integrated and the matching tuner. A Dual 1218 with a Microseiki cartridge and a pair of Epicure Model 10's rounded out the system, and provided many, many hours of enjoyment.

It's what brought me to these pieces also, back in the late 70's I purchased a Kenwood KA-7100 and tuner, not sure of the tuner's model # anymore. When deciding to put together a bedroom system a couple of yrs ago I decided to replace the old Kenny, but needed the pre outs so went with the KA-7300 and matching tuner. It's recently moved into the living rm to simplify things in both rooms for the little lady, and the main system sits in pieces waiting for me to complete the mancave.

Will soon post pics of my equipment in my gallery.

That's one of my favorite Miles albums and the 2M Black rules at my house.

I checked out your equipment listing and pics. Not the same TT or cartridge.

The little lady wanted to buy me an album so asked me to take her to Barnes & Noble, who was I to deny her lol. As it turned out Renee picked the album, that was ok with me, she has a similar taste in music. I have several of their albums but oddly enough never this one, could it be because of all the radio air play?

Can't compare the sonics of this 180g version to an original never having owned one, but I can say this copy is superb.

Martin

Edit: Fantastic pressing, not a single artifact, absolutely quiet just letting the music come through.

This is the 45 RPM single...excellent sonics, even better music. Love the $1.99 used record bins with "Promotional Copies" that always seem to be better pressings and have usually not been played much (if at all).

Hello Travis-

Thanks for reminding me that I had to include my new system at AA.

I just updated my system description and picture gallery to include the gear in my man cave.

Enjoy!

Linn Supercut 45rpm. Terrific sounding and her performance is passionate. So far all of Linn's Supercut have been just excellent.

Dudenin Consort/John Butt Mozart Requiem is a 33rpm but also pretty good fidelity. ( performance wise, it'll be either love or hate it due to its HIP rendition ) This isn't my favourite performance but they captured a lovely voice of Joanne Lunn.

Pre Stevie Nicks, a rather eclectic collection of songs. Some I really like, some well........

As for sonics, again, my mother always said "if you can't say anything nice" an original copy.

Yes, it's a KA-7300 along with a KT-7300 tuner, but the amp is only seeing preamp duty driving a pair of modified Dynaco ST-120 amps.

My noggin is way to big for that to be an issue.

And I look at it this way, this bit of WAF is the least I can do for the sweetest lady on the planet that never bats an eye at all the eBay boxes lol.

Purchased this album back in the early 70's, one if my very first records as a kid, could have a lot to do with my love of jazz and blues.

I don't have any of his CDs so I can't give you a direct comparison to vinyl, but I can say this three album set is great. How much of that is the venue I don't know, and I don't care, the acoustics of the hall are like an instrument all in of itself.

The soundstage is huge, extending in height not just to the ceiling, but along the ceiling extending behind my head. Width out past the walls spreading from the front to all the way behind revealing the actual shape of the venue, it's amazing actually.

Hope this helps.

Martin
