Hi gang, looking for a solution to my shipping problem. 20 boxes of LP's from New England to SF. Are there any recommended shipping services?

You might check into the railroad. We shipped a 50 pound box, posted on July 18, 2016 at 22:43:56

clear across the country, and it was more reasonable than other methods we researched.

When we checked into a freight company, they wanted a minimum of $500 for household goods.

I have driven 2500 miles four times in a UHaul truck, but I remember paying $1500 for just the 14 foot truck. Records were in all those moves including 20 boxes last time.

I just media mailed the equivalent of two UHaul small boxes(12.5 X 12.5 X 16) from Alaska to Washington State for $94. I used 7 smaller and stronger boxes to accomplish this. Good luck.

Media Mail with the post office is cheapest by far.... (nt), posted on July 19, 2016 at 02:41:18

- you and me both, brother!

Did the same thing- Niagara Falls, Ontario to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Halifax back to Niagara. Niagara to Orlando, Florida. Orlando to Miami. Miami back to Orlando, and now (finally, or until retirement), Orlando to Wichita, KS.

Hey, all this is just because it's where the job takes me (Electronics/Avionics tech)...

Nothing wrong with the good old USPO, if the packing is done well.

I agree with Lew and have shipped many boxes from Miami to Vancouver media mail rate with no problem(see newer thread about boxing above).
