I have been using Einszett Cockpit Premium for the interior of our new car. It works really well, has a very "clean" smell and is recommended for cleaning the display screens and controls in high end cars.

Figuring if its good enough for a Ferrari, its OK for my electronics, I used it (sprayed on a microfiber cloth) on my the face plate of my preamp, amp and remotes and it cleans better than anything I've used before.

It does leave something behind, it's just not oily. It is made for plastic and coated (painted) interior leather parts like door panels and dashboards. The "anti-armorall" if you will. But since it's supposed to be safe for use on touchscreens in cars, it should be fine for your faceplate.
