A couple of weeks ago I was inquiring about Turntable isolation platforms on this forum. I was sent an email from Music Direct that they were having a fathers day sale with 15% off and this platform was on sale also. I decided to buy one, what is is is a 1" thick square of closed cell foam with a 3/4" MDF board covered in black carpet. This could easily be made as a home project but with the double discount I made the purchase. First listen I was immediately able to hear how the bass went deeper and wasn't muddy any more. I was going to plug the ports in the back of my speakers because of this bass muddiness. Now I don't have to. If you don't have the means to make one yourself it is worth the purchase price. Check your turntable dimensions because this platform is rather small. Just the right size for mt TD-150
