Been on a powerful PE kick the past couple weeks... swingin', audacious, smart, conscious, fun
and as necessary as it was upon release. The voice of Chuck D remains completely captivating.

Each release is like an audio movie.

I can remember the first time I heard PEs' music. It was cacophonous and urgent. I did not like what I heard but I was compelled to listen. I heard electronic noise and sounds reminiscent of early electronic music like Cage and Reich. This was the future and the past brought screaming into the present. I'm glad I kept my ears open.

This music is from my youth made modern, insisting I hear and understand while able. Gil Scott Heron was a grandad to this sound and it made sense given world events.
