Feickert Azimuth Adjust software - can I use a software Spectrum Analyzer instead?

I've been wondering if I could get the same end result for azimuth adjustment that you get with the Feickert software and disc by using the R and L tracks on the Ultimate Analog record and a software spectrum analyzer on my laptop. There are a couple of pretty decent free software spectrum analyzers available. I use analyzers and such at work, so I figured if I bring the R and L channels into my laptop mic input with an adapter, and set the SA up to show R&L with the correct resolution bandwidth I should be able to make the same sort of comparison as what the Feickert software is doing. Granted Dr. Feickert's software does more things, and is set up for more straightforward check and adjust, but I'm thinking with maybe a bit of extra work I should be able to achieve the same outcome. Anyone? |

Looked around some and can't seem to locate one. |
So what do I use in place of the unobtainium Denons? (nt), posted on February 6, 2016 at 11:53:21 | |

> Do you keep it at the one degree counterclockwise orientation for normal use then? Yes! However, when I tested a Fozgometer I found that different test records yielded different azimuth results. Nevertheless, I leave the DL-S1 at one-degree azimuth tilt after taking three days to zero-in on that adjustment. ;-) I have a different DL-S1 on my Sota Millennia Vacuum and I keep it level with the record playing surface, e.g., zero-degree azimuth.
