This Saturday starting at 12:00 Noon, the Friends of Knight Memorial Library will hold their monthly Book Sale, this month featuring appx. 1,800 boxed sets and LPs, nearly all of them from donated collections--almost none are ex-library.

There are many phenomenal bargains in opera and vocal boxed sets and classical single LPs. Prices are usually $2 for a boxed set (some are near-mint). A few special interest pop LPs might be priced at $5. Billy and the Beaters, anyone?

Lots of Callas, lots of Franco Corelli, some Bjoerling. Lots of great boxed sets, e.g., the first complete recording of Rienzi.

Ordinary LPs are priced anywhere from $2 down to 50 cents. There are some very early LPs and also 78 rpms (in not very good shape) and there's a fair amount of 1980s pop such as Natalie Cole and George Benson.

The link is to more photos.

Argh.

The Library is closed today and we do not yet know about Saturday.

I will post an update as soon as I know, but PLEASE do not start a trip from out of town until we know if the Library will be closed or open.

John
