Knowing that I'm into vinyl, a customer of mine at the restaurant will let me know if he has bought any new records for his antique store. He recently had a gentleman contact him wanting to know if he would be interested in buying about 1100 records in near mint condition. It turns out the seller used to be a record reviewer and would receive boatloads of free records, many of which were WLP copies. In fact he has many more in storage yet to bring out.My customer had the seller bring the collection to his store so he could take a look and make him an offer. Before making any offer to buy he let me go through most of the collection and give my opinion. Long story short, he made a deal to buy the collection then gave me first dibs on everything.

Most of the records are from the late 60's to early 70's and are an eclectic bunch. A couple of boxes of jazz, some rock, some folk and blues and a bunch of stuff I have never seen before and almost all in NM condition. There were also still roughly 75 records still sealed.

The ones in the pics were jazz records his staff looked at and researched and decided they were not too valuable. I bought those for 4 bucks each. The rest that I picked out he will be giving me a price on as a lot next week. I think there are nearly 75 records in that lot, some are sealed jazz from 1970 to 1973.

I just picked up that Bobby Hutcherson/Harold Land record recently. I like it quite a bit, especially the first track. I don't know what the more valuable stuff is, but $4 for that Pharoah record is a steal, if you ask me.

at that price. You could double up on about half of those and still be doing OK.
As stated, the Bobby Hutcherson and Karma are a steal at that price, and if promos
even more so. His staff doesn't think $25.00 - $30.00 records are too valuable?
They're spoiled.

If the Roland Kirk were a mono (promo only) copy that would be
valuable as well, as is it's just a great record!

I like that Illinois Jacquet title too.

ENJOY!

When I go to pick-up the rest of my records I will try to remember to take some pics of some of the "stuff I have never seen before". I am terrible in remembering names and titles.

Great stuff! That Clare Fischer Big Band album is one of my favorites.
