The "Rega Nudge" is a learned response

My Traveler platter, upon pushing the power button, used to give a little kvetch and then begin rotating .

Recently, after reading Opus' coining the term in the title, I began giving it the nudge.

Now the platter just sits quietly, awaiting the nudge.

Freaky!

I still do the same with my Acoustic Signature Final Tool, not because of any noise, but I figure any less stress on the motor can't be a bad thing. I started with a Rega Planar 3 followed by a 25 and thus immediately knew what the "Rega nudge" meant. :-)
