Great post! Brings back fond memories!

I live in northern Ohio, and EPI and Epicure speakers were very popular here in the 70's and 80's. Lot's of the younger guys in the office bought pairs of the M100's. A few still have restored pairs.

EPI recommended certain LP's to their dealers to showcase them. Ramsey Lewis's Upendo Ni Pamoja was often used and sounded terrific. They didn't measure all that well; and certain kinds of music would catch them out; but on most popular music they did very well.
