Why aren't any gear faceplates in Japanese?

Probably all got scrapped by 1945.

Seen museum aircraft with radio sets in Japanese, although western numerics were still used.

if you've never perused the site at the link below... take a look. See some of the Japanese hardware that didn't get exported to the US 'back in the day'...

There's also a transliterated version of the site at www.audio-database.com (but for most things I just look at the Japanese site... the photos are in English!)

I lived in Japan for nine years and I don't recall seeing any equipment in Japanese. I also built a couple Luxkits (Luxman) while there, assembly manuals were in Japanese and the equipment was in English.
