Anything out there really good other than the Simply Speakers offering?

There are lots of tweeters out there that may be better than the replacement tweeter offered by Simply Speakers, but they are unlikely to be compatible with your 5002's woofer and crossover without some sort of modifications.

Contact Madisound. They can direct you to the nearest tweeter.

Just a thought. Those speakers of that era used a 10" woofer that typically ran up to around 1500-1750KHz. So your options for a tweeter are VERY few. You will need a tweeter with "balls" to go and FUNCTION that low. There are only a few around. And the most sensible would be the Seas 27TDFC. A highly flexible tweeter, soundwise. And also happens to be one of the best sounding tweeters I've used.
