 Yeah, I saw one of those radios at a Walgreens a few yrs. ago
on clearance, I though it was cool too. Where did you get yours?.

 Is that a single ended amplifier?

There are tube dampers and then there are damper tubes. Damper tubes (HV rectifiers) were used in analog televisions. They can make decent rectifiers for HV audio amplifiers depending on the current needs.
