greetings: i live in chicago and have long term experience with city repair techs. i would bring vintage SS gear to dave vacarro at chicago audio on 63rd east of pulaski (near midway airport). dave is technically excellent, personable, timely and reasonable. has extensive knowledge of vintage gear even quad equipment.

second choice would be 2oth century electronics on montrose just west of ashland. mitch also knows vintage equipment.

all the best

Also remember, this otherwise superb design is STK Output block afflicted. Which may or may not be tough to source. I wish this classic had been all discrete transistor. Hope you get it sorted out.

While you are in getting it serviced, not sure what you need, but the main caps in the power supply on the 9600 were worked pretty hard. Most of the 9600's I used to look at had leaking caps. so be sure to get those replaced. Nichicons would be a good choice.

As another poster noted, if the output packages are gone, then you are done, since that device is no longer available, unless you can find anohter 9600 to use for parts.

happy listening.
