I had recently bought a short length of bulk D102 to try my luck with DIY interconnects.
Turns out this particular cable is a b***h to work on!
I don't know if it's the type of alloy they use but it really doesn't stick to Cardas four-eutectic solder. I was really surprised as this solder is usually a breeze to work with.
With some efforts I managed to solder what looks to be solid connections but it was far from easy.
Anybody experienced the same issue with D102 cable and if yes, what's the trick, or which solder should one use?

Probably the "extra Linear Structured Carbon ® (LSC) saturated layer" is making the soldering difficult. Why not contact Van den Hul and see what they recommend.

You may have bought a fake Van den Hul cable, but even then it should not be so difficult to terminate, especially if you pre-tinned the silver plated copper strands and rca connector solder platforms before the task.

I think VDH does not communicate with end users.
